Kaizen LLC ("Kaizen", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data when you visit sunkaizen.com or interact with us.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly — including your name, email, phone, address, average electric bill, credit-band selection, and SMS consent — when you submit a quote request, partner application, sales-rep application, or contact form. We also collect anonymized site analytics (page views, session duration, referrer) via Vercel Analytics. We do not collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, or precise device identifiers via this site.
How we use it
We use the information you provide to (1) design your solar system and prepare a proposal, (2) contact you by phone, email, or SMS about your quote, application, or service request, (3) verify eligibility for installation in your state, (4) operate the business and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Who we share it with
We share lead data with our CRM provider (HubSpot) for routing and follow-up; with our financing partners only when you initiate a financing application; and with installation contractors and licensed electricians required to fulfill your install or service request. Where you live in a state where Kaizen does not directly install (Florida, California, Illinois), we may route your lead to a certified partner installer for proposal — your data is shared only after explicit consent in our quote flow. We do not share with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies and tracking
Our site uses minimal cookies — primarily a session cookie for site functionality and Vercel Analytics for anonymized usage data. We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Facebook pixels, or cross-site tracking. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings.
SMS consent
If you opt in to SMS communication during the quote flow, we will text you about your specific quote, install, or service. Maximum 10 messages per month. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply. SMS opt-in is not required to receive a quote.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing privacy@sunkaizen.com. We will respond within 30 days. Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA). California residents have rights under the CCPA. Oregon, Florida, and Illinois residents have rights under their respective state privacy laws. We honor verified requests regardless of state.
Data retention
We retain quote requests for 24 months, applications for 36 months, and customer install records for the life of the system plus 7 years (for warranty and tax purposes). You may request earlier deletion at any time, except where retention is legally required.
Security
We protect your information using TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest with our CRM and database providers, and access controls limiting who on our team can view your data. No system is 100% secure; we will notify affected parties if a data incident occurs.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for homeowners 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email to active customers and applicants.
